My dad working on car in his shop. He grew up a few blocks away and as a kid sold newspapers on this same corner in Homestead. He became a manager of the Gulf Station after returning from the war and eventually the owner along with my godfather Al Evancho. He passed the business on to my brothers and it's still in operation today, 60 years later as K&E Automotive.
