My wife's mother, Frances, was raised in an area known as Scotch Bottom. We know that area today as Hazelwood near the Mon river. My wife's maternal grandparents are in the photo. This was taken many years before her mother was born. My wife's grandfather, Stanislaus Skalniak, is the man in the middle holding the fiddle.He died in 1942. His wife, Catherine Skalniak,is on the far left holding her son, Stanley. The young boys are also their sons, Walter and Sonny Skalniak.The other men are unknown.
