Our Realtor group was to meet Mayor Caliguiri for a photo-op that day. Our national Realtor president was in town and we were to receive a proclamation from the mayor. When we arrived at his office we were told that he was ill and couldn't meet with us. His staff arranged a meeting with the President of City Council, Sophie Masloff. This is the photo from that meeting.
Mayor Caliguiri died that evening and Sophie Masloff was the mayor of Pittsburgh the next day. Our communications director received a letter in the mail from Mayor Caliguiri the next day as well. In the letter, he apologized to our group for not being able to meet us.
