My brothers, Don and Ron, and I met the big guy at Murphy's in 1955. I was six years old and I remember Santa being on the Forbes Avenue side of Murphy's store. There was a long line but we didn't mind. We took the streetcar home that evening. It was a different time and downtown was the place to be.
