I like the spacing of the picture. Because it is a white background your eyes are focused on the people. I think it is a simple image that shows the vulnerability of humanity. Marilyn has a look on her face that suggests she is unsure of the image the photographer wants to capture. The image of Marilyn is crisp and clear while I wonder why the image of the photographer is slightly blurry. It is as if the perfection of the movie star is amplified. I like how the image implies a specific time period in history based on the outfits, hairstyles, and camera that is in the image. I think it would be an attractive image for a person who is a Marilyn Monroe film because it is not a typical “head shot” but rather shows more of a behind the scenes look before the next picture is taken. The viewer is also left with a feeling of curiosity because Marilyn’s left eye is concealed by the mirror.
