Divya is the program manager of Carnegie Museum of Art's Hillman Photography Initiative, an incubator for exploring the rapidly changing field of photography and its impact in the world.

She has juried the Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward Emerging Photographers Competition and Photolucida’s Critical Mass International Photography Competition and been a reviewer at CENTER Santa Fe's REVIEW Santa Fe. Divya's writing has been published in Design and Culture and the Center for the Future of Museums blog, and is forthcoming in Museums and Visitor Photography (fall 2015) and Museum Ideas: Innovation in Theory and Practice, volume 2 (fall 2015). As a member of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council’s Task Force on Arts, Culture & Creative Industries, she is also deeply interested in promoting connections between art and technology in the local urban landscape.

She received her PhD from Brown University and her BA from Yale University, both in the History of Art and Architecture, and is a past recipient of the Carter Manny Award from the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts. She has lectured at Brown and Harvard Universities and her dissertation, Vision in Motion: Architectural Space Time Notation and Urban Design, 1950–1970, addressed intersections between urban design, planning, and spatial perception.
