The Sandbox: Building a Photobook
THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.
Participants in this hands-on workshop--lead by artists-in-residence Melissa Catanese and Ed Panar--will experiment with different ways of organizing photographs, teasing out possible readings and associations, and uncovering the mysteries and pleasures of building a visual narrative.
Through thoughtful editing and sequencing, photobooks use a collection of images to tell a story. These processes inform the heart of a narrative’s meaning and can be seen as the invisible act of creating a successful and engaging story.
Registrants are required to submit a minimum of 25 digital images. These images will be printed in advance by workshop organizers for use in this interactive program. Registrants are also asked to bring to the workshop a book that has inspired or influenced them.
Further information about submitting images will be provided upon registration.
The Sandbox: Building a Photobook is the final event in a series centered on six different photobook themes. Registration is required as space is limited.
