My mother-in-law, Frances, with her mother in 1938. The photo was taken in their backyard. They lived at 13 Rutherglen Street within walking distance of the steel mills by the river. Most of the buildings on Rutherglen no longer exist. At the time this section of Hazelwood was known as Scotch Bottom.
