The night that the County Commisioners appointed me to a six-year term on the county appeals board. Three months earlier Judge R. Stanton Wettick ordered a county wide reassessment. I was now one of seven board members in charge of it.
As a sidebar, Larry Dunn, Bob Cranmer and Mike Dawida were the last three commissions in Allegheny County before home-rule began in 2000. Each of them served as chair during this period. I waited until each was chairman before I asked them to sign the photo. The other appointee, Rose Liptak, is also in this photo.
