The Pirates had just won the World Series. We proclaimed ourselves the City of Champions. I took my nephews, Larry and Robbie, downtown to celebrate. I decided to go behind the stage and I made the right decision. My nephews were a few feet away from each player as they got off the bus.Willie Stargell was the hero of the series and the theme song that year was "We are Family."
