This striking image is one of dichotomies. There is a mirror held by Marilyn and a camera held by Eve. The mirror generally reflects an image of oneself. The camera (except for today's trend toward selfies) captures an image of someone or something Else. Both are holding the tool in such a way that they are indicating their attention is directly on the other person, person to person. The simplicity of this spontaneous, unconscious act gives us a glimpse at a true relationship between the two People. In today's world of self-centered technology with everyone into their own music, phone, personal spaces even when in shared spaces, any act of true connection seems profound.
