This is a response by Kurt Riedel to May 2014

I am struck by the two objects in the picture. One, the camera, is an instrument of aggression, seemingly going toward Marilyn to grab and possibly manipulate her image, furthering the exploitation of her. The other, the mirror, simple, innocent, also reflects her image. But its reflection is true, and Marilyn grasps and holds it with both hands, hesitant to surrender.
